Getting to MCEC

The Melbourne Motor Show takes place at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf.

MCEC is centrally located in South Wharf and is easily accessible by public transport, including train, tram, and bus services, as well as by taxi or rideshare.

Coming by Train

Southern Cross Station (Spencer Street) is the closest major train hub to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. From the station, it’s just a short walk across the Yarra River to the venue.

Trains arrive frequently, with services running every 15–20 minutes on most lines.

Coming by Tram

Trams stop directly outside the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, making it one of the easiest ways to get to the Motor Show. Services run every 6–12 minutes.

  • Routes 12, 96 and 109 travel along Clarendon Street from South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda, and connect through the CBD via Collins and Bourke Streets.

  • Route 70 runs along Flinders Street and stops on the north side of the Convention Centre.

Taxis & Rideshare

Taxi ranks are located directly at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, making it simple to arrive or depart by cab. You’ll also find ranks at nearby major hotels, the Crown Entertainment Complex, and both Southern Cross (Spencer Street) and Flinders Street Stations.

Rideshare services such as Uber, Ola and DiDi also operate throughout Melbourne and can drop off and pick up at the Convention Centre.
